WHY REWRITE HISTORY?

For a long time there has been a widespread feeling that Indian history as it is being taught in schools and colleges and as it is being presented to the world at large is a counterfeit substitute for India’s real history which has been either lost or destroyed or distorted or suppressed.

This was inevitable in nature of things because India had been under Foreign domination for 1,235 years i.e from Mohammad Bin Kasim’s invasion (712 A.D.) to 1947.

History always becomes the first casualty of aggression. As from the very moment of aggression or even as prior preparation the enemy begins to distort and destroy the history of the victim country by demolishing border pillars and fabricating maps and the longer a country remains subject to foreign rule the greater the damage to its history and the morale of the people( who suffer from a self deprecatory inferiority complex) which unfortunately is a very dismal situation.

Such history must be repudiated and rewritten. In my book 'Some blunders of Indian historical research' I have indicated a few blunders. They are just a sampling of the vast scope for research that awaits scholars who are prepared to take a second look at Indian and World history and do some fresh thinking uninhibited by previous tutoring.
